RESIDENTS in the Blue Mountains are urged to start preparing for the upcoming bush fire season.

Residents are invited to meet with NSW Rural Fire Service (RFS) personnel at a range of locations over the Get Ready Weekend on September 16 and 17.

Fire fighters from more than 500 brigades across NSW will conduct a range of events and activities this weekend to help people prepare for the fire season.
