The 3 ps of preparedness - pets, pastries and poise
Workshop facilitators, Renee Vincent (Resilient Villages) and Cherie Brandon (Blue Mountains Women's Health & Resource Centre) host a sumptuous high tea for attendees
Resilient Villages recently teamed up with the Blue Mountains Women's Health & Resource Centre (BMWHRC) to host two important P-CEP (Person Centred Emergency Preparedness) workshops designed specifically for women.
P-CEP training is a method of preparing for emergencies which puts the needs of individuals at the centre of any planning while recognising that each person's needs, circumstances and capabilities are unique. P-CEP aims to build resilience by helping individuals and their support networks prepare for, respond to, and recover from emergencies.
On Wednesday, 19 and Tuesday, 25 February, 2025 RV’s Renee Vincent faciliated two P-CEP workshops at the Katoomba based Blue Mountains Women’s Health and Resource Centre with the help of BMWHRC’s Cherie Brandon. As you can see Renee and Cherie both put on a lush high tea for all attendees!
As a former NSW police officer, Renee is no stranger to emergency scenario planning. Her 25 years of professional experience has seen her manage, first hand, disaster scenarios such as floods, fires and pandemics and she has developed and led training exercises for emergency management.
In addition to P-CEP training, Tuesday’s event also included a session for pet owners, where local veterinarian Dr Lisa Goodchild provided attendees with practical tips on how to keep their pets safe during emergencies.
