Anne Crestani, Project Lead
Anne Crestani has been working in the community sector for over 23 years.
Over the last 10 years she has been leading teams and projects that are focused on supporting people and communities impacted by disaster events.
This includes the Step by Step disaster recovery support services (2013 and 2019/20), the Walk With disaster preparedness E-learning tool, and the Step by Step Wellbeing and Community Resilience Projects.
Anne is a passionate advocate and supporter of community informed and community led resilience planning and action.

Joanna Brown, Resilience Coordinator
Joanna has lived and worked in the Blue Mountains for 30 years.
She loves the wildness and beauty of the landscape and the unique, connected community of the Mountains.
Jo has worked in Community Development in both local government and non-government organisations for almost as long, specialising in support and advocacy for young people and has spent the last five years working in psycho-social disaster recovery.
As a passionate advocate for community-led change and community leadership, Jo also consults to individuals and organisations and is a skilled facilitator and coach/mentor.
Jo is excited to bring her skills and experience together in support of the Resilient Villages Project.

Claire Absolum, Communications Manager
Claire is a digital storyteller with over 25 years experience.
Throughout her career she has worked as a documentary filmmaker and tv journalist for the ABC and SBS TV.
More recently, she has applied her skills in visual communication to a number of social justice and environmental campaigns with a particular focus on climate change and its impacts.
Claire has been proud to call the Blue Mountains home for the past 10 years and she is delighted to have the opportunity to meet Blue Mountains residents so we can share our stories, ideas and experiences with people around Australia and the world.

Renee Vincent, Get Ready Coordinator
With over 25 years of distinguished experience in law enforcement, education, and counselling, I am a valuable asset to the community.
My crisis management skills have been honed through responding to emergencies like fires, floods, and the recent pandemic. I have designed and led desktop exercises for emergency management training, preparing teams for various scenarios.
As an accredited counsellor, my core competencies include active listening, effective communication, conflict management, and incident mediation. I possess remarkable emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills, creating a supportive environment for clients seeking counselling.
My diverse background equips me to handle challenging situations with empathy and composure, benefiting the local community.
As a Blue Mountains resident, married with four boys and many animals, I am enthusiastic about contributing to the community's well-being.
